ISLAMABAD: Pakistani YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, is under investigation in connection with the promotion of illegal betting applications, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) said on Monday.
Officials revealed that the influencer earned up to $20,000 (Rs5.5 million) for each promotional campaign, having allegedly endorsed more than 50 gambling apps.
NCCIA Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry said over 40 betting platforms are active in Pakistan, generating billions of rupees online. “Social media influencers are being hired by overseas operators to attract users towards gambling,” he stated, confirming that several promoters are already under probe.
The agency has declared 46 apps illegal, including Aviator Game, 1xBet, Dafabet, Pari Match, Bet365, 22Bet, Plinko, 10Cric, Rabona, Casumo, and Chicken Road. Officials warned that many of these platforms also compromise users’ personal data, including phone numbers.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been provided a full list of these apps and instructed to block nationwide access.
Authorities confirmed that Ducky Bhai was taken into custody at Lahore Airport while attempting to travel abroad. Investigations into his activities are ongoing, with NCCIA cautioning other influencers against engaging in similar promotions.
