For the first time in Sindh’s history, a structured training programme has been launched to prepare college teachers for administrative roles and responsibilities. The inaugural session of the training was held at the Training, Management and Research Wing in Karachi on Monday, where Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah emphasised the importance of continuous learning.

Addressing the session, the minister said that empowering college principals and administrative officers with managerial skills will enhance the overall standard of colleges.

“The process of learning should never stop. When teachers transition into administrative roles such as principals, they often face challenges that differ from their academic experience. These gaps can impact their performance.”

He added that the aim is to equip faculty with administrative expertise so they can manage college affairs more effectively. “Administrative responsibilities differ from teaching.

Our goal is to strengthen colleges administratively so principals and officers can confidently handle areas such as services, procurement, financial management, human resources, and other regulatory aspects,” he explained.

College Education Secretary Shahab Qamar Ansari shared that in this phase, 200 teachers from across Sindh will be trained. Each batch will consist of 30 participants who will receive focused training in services, procurement, financial management, human resources, and relevant rules and regulations.

Those who complete the training will be given priority consideration for appointments as principals and administrative officers in the future.
