India contacted Pakistan for the second time in 24 hours to inform it of the potential flood threat.

Diplomatic sources said that the Indian High Commission in Islamabad contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and provided information regarding the flood in the Sutlej River.

Official sources said that earlier in the first contact, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad informed Pakistan about the potential threat of major flooding in the Tuvi River in Jammu and Kashmir.

Responding to the Indian alert regarding the advance warning of the flood in the Sutlej River, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that India provided the flood warning on August 24, 2025 through diplomatic channels, and informed it through diplomatic channels instead of the Indus Waters Commission under the Indus Waters Treaty.

The spokesperson said that India is required to fully implement all the provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty. India’s unilateral suspension of the treaty is a serious violation of international law that can have extremely negative effects on peace and stability in South Asia.

According to sources, India has issued an alert regarding the threat of flooding in the Tawi River. The Indian High Commission informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a possible flood situation could arise due to the increase in the flow of water in the river.

According to sources, the Indian High Commission shared the alert regarding the possible flood in the Tawi River. India had issued an alert regarding the flood in the Tawi River on the Indian side. According to the Indian High Commission, the flood water of the Tawi River falls into the Chenab River.

The first diplomatic contact has been made between the two countries after the war. The Ministry of Water Resources has issued a warning letter to the institutions,
There is a risk of flooding in the Sutlej River.

The Ministry of Water Resources wrote in the letter that there will be severe flooding after India releases water in the Sutlej River. The Ministry of Water Resources has informed 27 relevant ministries and institutions.
