Cristiano Ronaldo made history by becoming the first player to score 100 competitive goals for four different clubs, but his achievement was overshadowed as Al-Nassr fell to Al-Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final on penalties in Hong Kong.

The 40-year-old Portuguese star struck from the spot in the 40th minute after Ali Majrashi’s handball, giving Al-Nassr the lead. Al-Ahli, fresh off their Asian Champions League triumph, hit back in stoppage time when Franck Kessie converted a precise pass from Enzo Millot.

The second half saw both sides push hard for victory. Ronaldo forced a save from Edouard Mendy while Firas Al-Buraikan rattled the post. Marcelo Brozovic put Al-Nassr ahead again in the 82nd minute, punishing a defensive lapse. But Al-Ahli equalised late as Roger Ibanez headed home a Riyad Mahrez corner in the 89th minute after a misjudgment by keeper Bento.

The match went to penalties, where Al-Ahli kept their composure and converted all five spot-kicks. Although Ronaldo successfully dispatched his effort, Al-Nassr faltered, allowing Al-Ahli to secure a 5–3 shootout win and claim their second Saudi Super Cup crown.

The defeat denied Ronaldo silverware, but his record-setting feat added another chapter to his illustrious career.
