Three young athletes from Swat brought glory to Pakistan by winning four medals at the MBW International Taekwondo Championship 2025 in Malaysia, a global event featuring more than 4,200 participants from 32 countries.

Ayesha Ayaz, Pakistan’s youngest taekwondo champion, once again proved her remarkable talent by securing a gold and a bronze medal. Having represented Pakistan on the international stage from a young age, she continues to inspire countless young women to pursue sports with confidence and ambition.

Her elder brother, Mohammad Zaryab Khan, delivered an outstanding performance that earned him a gold medal, further lifting the national spirit. Their youngest sibling, Gulalai Ayaz, added to the family’s success by clinching a bronze medal and was honoured with the Best Fighter of the Tournament award for her fearless display.

This unprecedented achievement marks the first time in Pakistan’s history that three siblings have collectively secured four medals at an international taekwondo event. Their victories sparked widespread celebrations in Swat and across the country, where their triumph is being hailed as a source of national pride and motivation for the youth.

Expressing her joy, Ayesha Ayaz credited her success to the support of her father, her well-wishers, and the encouragement of Hassan Nisar, CEO of Metrix Pakistan. She said their belief in her journey has been instrumental in her achievements.

Sports experts believe this milestone highlights the urgent need for greater institutional backing for martial arts and other underrepresented sports. With better facilities and international exposure, they say, Pakistani athletes could emerge as formidable forces on the global stage.
