City Circle police foiled a bank robbery attempt after receiving information about the presence of armed suspects outside a private bank on Thursday. During the exchange of fire, one dacoit was injured and arrested, while another managed to escape, police officials confirmed.
Under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Sajad Ahmed Sahabzada, a team led by DSP City Hafiz Muhammad Adnan, along with SHO City Taimur Khan Marwat and SHO Cantt Arsalan Khan Gandapur, swiftly reached the site upon receiving the tip-off.
As police approached, the suspects riding a motorcycle opened fire. The police retaliated, injuring one of the suspects, who was later identified as Zahid, son of Azizullah, a resident of Pai, District Tank. A pistol and ammunition were recovered from his possession.
DSP City Adnan said the arrested suspect was wanted in several cases, including a robbery of Rs1 million committed within the jurisdiction of City Police Station on July 14.
