President Zardari renews commitment to iron brotherhood with China

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and discussed the relations between the two countries and renewed his commitment to steel brotherhood with China.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidency.

President Asif Zardari renewed his commitment to steel brotherhood with China and said that Pakistan and China are tried and tested friends and all-weather partners.

He said that friendship with China is the main pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy, China has always supported Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity.

The President expressed condolences to China over the floods in Beijing and Gansu, saying that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an important means of fulfilling the Pakistan-China shared vision.

He said that the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations will be celebrated in a dignified manner in 2026.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that the friendship between China and Pakistan has been maintained for generations.

The meeting between the President and the Chinese Foreign Minister also discussed bilateral cooperation and regional security.
