Reports circulating on social media on Thursday claimed that religious scholar Mufti Tariq Masood was injured after his car came under fire near Ghaghar Phatak in Karachi.
The cleric, however, rejected the claims, stating that the news of the attack was “completely false and baseless.”
A day earlier, similar rumours about an alleged attack on Dawat-e-Islami chief Maulana Ilyas Qadri also made rounds online, but were promptly denied by the scholar in a video message.
