LAHORE – A case has been registered against model Azbia Khan and photographer Zain Shah for allegedly violating the sanctity of the historic Wazir Khan Mosque by filming a video inside its premises.
The FIR, filed at Akbari Gate Police Station on the complaint of Mohammad Awais, an officer of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), states that the shoot was carried out without permission and in “inappropriate attire.” Authorities said the footage, recorded a few days earlier, was later uploaded to social media, sparking backlash and damaging the reputation of the WCLA.
This is not the first such controversy. In 2020, actor Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed were also booked for recording a music video at the same mosque. The incident led the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department to ban filming of movies and dramas in mosques and shrines.
