For the past few days, a video of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been going viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claiming that he said: “Our people are sitting in the Indian Parliament.”
The video is flooded with comments and many Indian users are using it as a political weapon. But the fact is that this video is not original but the audio has been faked.
When Pakistani organization “iVerify Pakistan” investigated the matter, it was found that the things presented in the video have no connection with Bilawal Bhutto’s original speech. The investigation also revealed that the video was posted by an Indian user on July 31, in which Bilawal Bhutto’s speech in the National Assembly and Indian MP Gaurav Gogoi’s statement in the Lok Sabha were shown together.
In the fake video, Bilawal Bhutto was attributed with these words: “Who attacks in the darkness of the night? We can easily propagate in front of the Indian Prime Minister, our people are sitting in his parliament.”
The video was accompanied by a questioning question as to who are the “our people” that Bilawal is talking about?
The clip went viral immediately, with more than 100,000 views and 5,200 shares on just one post. The same fake video was also shared on several Indian accounts and Instagram, while a picture of Bilawal Bhutto’s fake statement was also circulated, which was spread by pages associated with Hindutva ideology and these pictures have received more than 600,000 views in total.
However, a closer look at the video revealed several discrepancies, the most prominent of which were the lack of lip movements and vocal harmony. At the same time, the unnatural use of some Hindi words and the pronunciation of words like Prime Minister also looked suspicious, which made it clear that the audio was changed later.
Checking the video through reverse image search revealed that this video of Bilawal Bhutto is actually from May 7, 2025, when he addressed the National Assembly on the four-day tension between Pakistan and India.
In the original speech, Bilawal had said:
“Only thieves and cowards attack in the dark of night, if they had the slightest courage, they would have announced their attack during the day. We are not in favor of war, but India should be ready because Pakistan has yet to respond, and this response will not be given in the dark but in accordance with international laws and the UN Charter.”
This was further confirmed by reports from reputable Pakistani media outlets such as the Express Tribune, which had the full context of Bilawal’s speech, but nowhere did it contain any such sentence related to the Indian Parliament.
As a result, it was proven that this video is completely fake. The audio was pasted over the original speech to spread a misleading message, and Bilawal Bhutto’s name was misrepresented.
