LAHORE – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Tuesday that Pakistan’s triumph in its recent four-day conflict with India had proven the country’s military might beyond nuclear deterrence, marking a new chapter in regional defense dynamics.
Speaking at a ceremony in Lahore, the premier applauded the swift and strategic response of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, calling the short war “highly dangerous” yet masterfully managed. He emphasized that the myth of Pakistan relying solely on its nuclear arsenal had been dispelled by the Armed Forces’ conventional warfare superiority.
“India assumed Pakistan’s strength rested only on its nuclear deterrence,” he said, “but our forces shattered that assumption through their preparedness, courage, and coordinated excellence.”
PM Shehbaz specifically praised the Army’s deployment of Al Fatah missiles, the Air Force’s innovation and technical prowess, and the Navy’s vigilance, calling the victory a product of national unity and professionalism.
On the diplomatic front, he noted that US President Donald Trump’s acknowledgment of his role in brokering a ceasefire was also a diplomatic win for Pakistan.
The address came during the inauguration of the Pak Business Express and upgraded passenger services at Lahore Railway Station. PM Shehbaz also committed to modernizing Pakistan Railways in partnership with China, aiming to turn it into an affordable and efficient mode of transport for all citizens.
He said the railway overhaul was a key priority that would strengthen both economic growth and regional connectivity.
