Millions of mourners join Chehlum processions

The Chehlum processions of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions were organised across Sindh on Friday, as millions of people took to streets to participate in the mourning on Friday. In Hyderabad the central procession emanated from Qadam Gah Moula Ali (RA) in the afternoon here on Friday culminated at Qadam Gah Dadan Shah in the evening.

Thousands of men, women and children walked their way from distant areas of Hyderabad to take part in the Mishi-Arbaeen walk. They all gathered at the Qadam Gah to join the procession.

Around 1,600 policemen were deployed for security, the district police claimed. The processions were also monitored through the CCTV cameras. The networks of all cellular companies were suspended on Saturday morning and the restoration began after 8pm.

As many as 44 processions were organized in Larkana including the main procession which started from Syed Jarral Shah Imam Bargah. It concluded at Pakistan Chowk. Around 2,000 cops performed the task of security of the processions.

The central procession in Shaheed Benazirabad began from Murtazvi Imam Bargah and it ended at the same place after moving through different parts of the city. The main processions in Mirpurkhas and Sukkur started from Imam Bargah Arab Shah Bukhari and Markazi Imam Bargah Ghareebabad.
