A 42-year-old man died after suffering an electric shock while at work.

According to sources, Muhammad Boota Ghulam Dastgir, a resident of Bahawalpur, was working near Bernala in the Chak Jhumra police area when he was struck by a powerful electric current and lost consciousness.

He was given first aid and taken to hospital, where he remained in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries. Police took custody of the body, carried out the necessary formalities, and handed it over to the family.

Meanwhile, a factory owner has been accused of raping a woman after luring her with the promise of employment.

According to a complaint lodged at Madina Town police station by a resident of Nemat Colony, the suspect, Tanveer, allegedly took her on a motorcycle to a house where he assaulted her at gunpoint.

Police have registered a case under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and launched a search for the suspect.

In separate incidents, two minors escaped sexual assault. In Housing Colony No. 1, Ejaz allegedly attempted to assault an eight-year-old boy, while in Alvi Park, Ali Sher was accused of attempting to assault a six-year-old boy.
