Written verdict issued in May 9th arson and encirclement case, orders to arrest Sanam Javed and Aaliya Hamza and send them to jail

The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has issued a written verdict in the May 9 arson and encirclement case, in which non-bailable warrants have been issued for Sanam Javed and Alia Hamza.

According to Express News, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has issued a 93-page written verdict in the two May 9 arson and encirclement cases, written by ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul.

The court verdict states that Alia Hamza and Sanam Javed kept posting disturbing posts on social media, things have also been recovered from the mobile phones of both the accused, Sanam Javed has considerable influence on social media while Alia Hamza is also a senior PTI leader, both of their posts and video clips were recovered by police personnel from USP.

The verdict states that the two female accused were nominated in the light of supplementary statements, we cannot call this a fake recovery, Alia Hamza and Sanam Javed are sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of one hundred thousand rupees.

The verdict states that PTI leaders took the stand that on May 9, we did not take the law into our own hands and did not burn and surround the police station, but protested according to the law.

The court wrote that on May 9, attacks were carried out on government facilities across the country. In the Shadman police station burning and surrounding case, the prosecution has proven its case, while the prosecution could not prove the murder charge against Mian Mahmood-ul-Rashid.

The court’s verdict states that according to witnesses, Mian Mahmood-ul-Rashid was present at the scene on May 9 and 11 people testified that he fired directly from his pistol.

According to the written verdict, the accused’s pistol was recovered during cross-examination.

The court, while issuing non-bailable arrest warrants for Sanam Javed and Alia Hamza, wrote in the verdict that the accused were on bail and kept appearing earlier but did not appear to hear the verdict. The verdict states that the final statements of Sanam Javed and Alia Hamza were given by their lawyer.

The court, in a written decision, ordered the SHO Shadman Town to arrest Sanam Javed and Aaliya Hamza and send them to jail.
