Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali has been released on bail in Manchester after being arrested over allegations of raping a woman during the Pakistan Shaheens’ recent tour of England.
Greater Manchester Police said the alleged incident occurred on 23 July 2025 at a property in the city. The 24-year-old was arrested on 4 August and has been barred from leaving the UK while investigations continue. “The man has since been bailed pending further enquiries. The victim is being supported by officers,” police told Reuters.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has provisionally suspended Haider from all cricket activities, saying he will be provided legal assistance until the case concludes. Disciplinary action will be considered once the investigation and any legal proceedings are complete.
Haider, who debuted for Pakistan in 2020, has represented the national side in 35 T20Is and two ODIs.
