In South Waziristan, unidentified armed assailants shot dead a prominent religious scholar, Maulana Sanaullah.

According to details, the incident took place in the Azam Warsak area of Lower South Waziristan’s Birmal tehsil, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on Maulana Sanaullah, a well-known cleric from Shakai, killing him on the spot.

The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.

Upon receiving information, local police reached the scene, collected evidence, and launched an investigation. The area has been cordoned off, and a search operation is underway to trace the unidentified attackers.

On the other hand unidentified armed assailants set fire to government contractor’s machinery late at night in DI Khan, prompting police to decide on enhanced security for contractors following recent threats.

According to details, in the jurisdiction of University Police Station, unidentified gunmen torched machinery installed by government contractor Naveed Gandapur for the construction of the Jalebi Mor–Daraban Road.

In his statement to the police, Gandapur said that unidentified individuals had been demanding extortion for several days, and upon his refusal, they set fire to a Datsun truck and other machinery. He added that the government had awarded him the contract for the road project, but the suspects were pressuring him for protection money.
