Police submit initial report on lawyer’s killing

Police have submitted a preliminary report on the murder of senior lawyer Khawaja Shamsul Islam Advocate, who was killed in a shooting in Defence Phase 6, before the Administrative Court in Karachi Central Jail Anti-Terrorism Complex.

Police declared eight accused, including Imran Afridi, as absconding in the preliminary report. According to the report, the case has been registered on the complaint of the deceased’s brother Khawaja Faisal.

Islam was shot near the steps of the Quran Academy in Khayaban Rahat. Accused Imran Afridi fired two shots. One bullet hit Islam and one hit his son Daniyal. The accused fled taking advantage of the crowd. Imran Afridi, Zarar Afridi, Inam Khan, Usman Afridi, Taqdeer, Bahar Gul, Khasta Gul and Shehryar are absconding in the case.
