Terrorists launched coordinated attacks on four police and Frontier Corps (FC) checkposts in the Lal Qila area of Maidan, Lower Dir, late Wednesday night, using heavy weaponry. As a result, one FC man, Naik Shakoor, sustained injuries and was shifted to the hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.

According to Lower Dir police, the attacks targeted joint police and FC check posts in Sarlara, Lal Qila, Kohiray, and Gumbat Banda at various times throughout the night. Intense exchange of fire continued between the security forces and terrorists for several hours. The security forces retaliated strongly, forcing the assailants to flee. It is worth noting here that two nights earlier, terrorists had also attacked the Zimdara Gul police post in Maidan, injuring an Elite Force member.

The series of attacks and reports of terrorist presence have sparked fear and anxiety among local residents.
