In light of a possible protest march by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan, security measures have been significantly tightened in the federal capital and the twin cities. Containers have been deployed at multiple locations, and arrests of party workers have been carried out.

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has announced a call for a march from Faizabad to the American Embassy, or what it is referring to as the “Aqsa Million March”, Express News reported.

In response, the Rawalpindi administration and police have formulated a comprehensive strategy and launched a large-scale crackdown to apprehend prominent TLP workers. According to officials, a total of 117 workers have so far been taken into custody from across the city.

To maintain law and order, a plan to block key intersections and major roads is also under serious consideration. Rawalpindi police have begun taking containers and trailers into custody as part of preparations to control any unrest.

These vehicles have been stationed along roadsides within the jurisdiction of various police stations and will be used to block routes if needed.

Authorities have identified Murree Road in Rawalpindi as one of the key locations where road closures may be enforced.

In Islamabad, containers have already been placed near the Faizabad Junction in anticipation of the protest.

The deployment of security and traffic control infrastructure reflects heightened concern over potential disruptions. Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to manage any emerging situation linked to the TLP’s call for protest.
