Wall outside Nara Jail triggers land dispute

An illegally constructed wall outside Nara Jail on the central road of Hyderabad’s SITE area has triggered a serious land ownership dispute. The wall, built by jail authorities, encroaches on land officially owned by SITE Limited, raising concerns over unauthorized occupation and disruption to industrial traffic.

The Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry responded swiftly, sending a detailed letter to the Inspector General of Prisons, Sindh, with copies forwarded to relevant ministers, SITE officials, and administrative authorities. The letter cited Sindh government revenue notifications from 1952 and 1953, as well as surveys conducted in 2002 and reaffirmed by the Sindh High Court in 2017, all confirming SITE Limited’s ownership of the disputed land.

Senior Vice Chairman Amir Shahab warned that the wall and drainage construction could narrow access for heavy vehicles, affecting the delivery of goods and raw materials. Thanks to timely intervention, construction was halted and boundary re-marking is underway, restoring confidence among industrial stakeholders.
