Unidentified armed men kidnapped five employees of a gas pipeline company along with their vehicle in the jurisdiction of Daraban police station in DI Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the Dera–Zhob Road near Zarkanai, where assailants intercepted the company’s vehicle belonging to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited Sar Dagar camp in Daraban.

The abducted employees were identified as foreman Khurshid, Khalid Mushtaq from Punjab, driver Ramzan, Adnan from Lakki Marwat, and Christian worker Suraj Kumar.

Sources said the victims were travelling in the company vehicle when armed men suddenly stopped them and forcibly took them to an unknown location. The motive behind the abduction has not yet been determined.

Police officials confirmed that a search operation was immediately launched following the incident, while check posts and roadblocks have been set up across the surrounding areas to track down the abductors.

The incident has triggered panic and fear in the area, with residents urging the government to take urgent measures to ensure the safe recovery of the abducted employees and to restore security in the region.
