Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied both acquittal and a new trial just days before his sentencing, with U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ruling that the government had sufficiently proved its case against the music mogul.

Combs, 55, is set to be sentenced on October 3 for two prostitution-related charges. Despite being acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking in July, the mogul still faces potential prison time following his conviction for transportation to engage in prostitution.

Ahead of sentencing, his ex, Cassie Ventura, urged the judge to consider the lives affected by Combs’s abuse and control, emphasizing the emotional toll on victims. Prosecutors have requested a sentence of at least 11 years and three months, while Combs’ attorneys have asked for a reduced sentence of 14 months, which would be only a few months more than the time he has already spent in custody since his arrest in September 2024.

Combs, currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, has faced harsh conditions during his incarceration, according to his lawyers, who argue that these conditions should be taken into account when determining his sentence.
