A representative body of health professionals has demanded the Sindh government to roll back pension cuts.

Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Sindh President Dr Bashir Ahmed Khaskheli expressed support for the demands of the Sindh Employees Alliance, stating that government employees in the province are being treated unfairly. He urged the provincial government to address their issues and withdraw the recent “illegal amendments” made to pension laws.

Speaking at a press conference at the Hyderabad Press Club, Dr Khaskheli condemned rising lawlessness and terrorism across the country, highlighting that many doctors have been martyred or injured in such incidents. “The government’s foremost responsibility is to ensure law and order and the protection of doctors, paramedical staff, and the general public,” he said, calling for a comprehensive security system at hospitals across Sindh.

Dr Khaskheli also demanded an increase in the provincial health budget, uninterrupted supply of medicines, appointment of additional doctors, and measures to control rising drug prices.
