The boycott of work by government employees entered its third consecutive day on Thursday, disrupting operations at provincial offices and public sector educational institutions across Sindh.

Scores of demonstrations were staged, with participants voicing strong opposition to proposed pension cuts, disparity reduction allowance, group insurance policies, and the government’s stance on pay raises.

In Hyderabad, employees from revenue, health, education, hospitals, local government, and other departments abstained from duty.

Addressing a protest outside Hyderabad Press Club, Sindh Employees Alliance Chairman Ashraf Khaskheli accused thegovt of “conspiring to starve the retired workforce to death.”

“While other provinces are adopting policies for the welfare of their employees, Sindh is doing the opposite,” Khaskheli said. He urged the govt to curb ministerial corruption instead of depriving workers and pensioners of their livelihood.

He reiterated the alliance’s warning of laying siege to Bilawal House in Karachi on October 6 if demands remain unmet.
