The Israeli army is facing fierce resistance from Hamas during its offensive in Gaza.
According to the International News Agency, an Israeli army major was killed in a clash with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed that the killed major was identified as Netanel Bozglou. He was a company commander in the 77th Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade.
The Israeli army spokesman added that he was killed in a Hamas attack while serving as a tank officer in a company commander team.
The statement said that as soon as the army tank entered an area for a military operation, Hamas operatives attacked.
An Israeli army officer was also seriously injured in the Hamas attack and was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
The slain company commander had recorded a video statement before the operation in which he said that we will search for the enemy (Hamas) and find them.
It should be remembered that the number of Israeli soldiers killed in the ongoing Gaza war with Hamas since October 7, 2023, has reached 850.
