KARACHI: Shabir Tanoli, accused of sexually abusing multiple children in Karachi, has confessed to his crimes before a judicial magistrate at the City Court, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
According to details, Tanoli recorded his statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code in connection with six separate rape cases. During the proceedings, he admitted to abusing at least five children.
The accused told the court that he lured victims with money and assaulted them in secluded areas or rented rooms, sometimes recording videos of the abuse. “I am ashamed of what I did,” Tanoli said in his statement.
Prior to recording the confession, the magistrate granted Tanoli two hours to reconsider, warning him that the statement could be used against him during trial. The court also ensured he had not been coerced or tortured by police, to which the accused confirmed his statement was voluntary.
When asked if others were involved, Tanoli maintained that he acted alone. He further disclosed that he befriended some of the victims in 2022 before exploiting them.
After completing the legal process, the magistrate placed the confessional statement on record, confirming that the accused had admitted guilt in all six cases
