Provoked by the kidnapping of a cop on Saturday, the Kashmore-Kandhkot district police on Sunday claimed to have killed three bandits and injured six others in raids carried out for recovery of the policeman.

Reportedly, raids were conducted in the hideouts of dacoits belonging to the Jagirani, Bhayo and Behalkani communities.

The slain suspects were identified as Suhbat Jagirani, Shafique Dahani and Shahid Bhayo. According to the district SSP, Jagirani was booked in 29 FIRs and Dahani in five.

Despite the daylong action, police failed to recover the kidnapped cop, Fazlur Rehman Khoso who was abducted in an armed assault of bandits on a police picket near Qambrani Lari.

A bandit, Khadim Bhayo later released a video on social media showing Khoso standing next to him. Bhayo demanded the release of his fellow from police custody. In a new audio addressed to the SSP, the bandits warned of attacking an oilfield if police do not accept their demands.
