A woman allegedly jumped into a drain passing through the Scout Colony area of Mobina Town and has since gone missing. A rescue operation has been ongoing for the past 15 hours, but no trace of the woman has been found so far.

The incident took place around 2am between Sunday and Monday night in the jurisdiction of Mobina Town police station, where a woman allegedly jumped into the drain and went missing.

According to SHO Muhammad Nawaz, the woman has been identified as 27-year-old Mishal Kareem, daughter of Fazal Kareem. She was originally from Khomreer Kot, Gilgit-Baltistan. A few years ago, she had a love marriage with a man named Hasnain Shah. For the past two or two and a half years, she had been residing in Scout Colony.

It is alleged that the woman jumped into the drain after becoming disheartened by her husband’s behaviour. According to the SHO, Mishal’s husband wanted to marry a second time, which had led to ongoing conflicts between the couple. Eyewitnesses also reportedly saw the woman jump into the drain during the night.

Police are in contact with the woman’s family. Her father has departed from Gilgit and is on his way to Karachi. The woman’s husband, who was initially missing, is now in contact with the police. He is said to be working as a researcher in a company.

Further investigation into the incident will be possible once the woman’s father arrives in Karachi and the woman is found.
