First, there were cloud bursts that even inspired the enemy to wage war, which devastated Punjab’s land, greenery, and prosperous life, and now the people waiting for governmental aid are also, in my view, part of an aid cloud burst where drones will be used in the form of sugars specific to certain areas. The poor and rightful people will watch the aid proceedings going up in the air with astonishment. Chief Secretary Punjab came to Alipur to review the situation, and according to his statement, they will formulate a comprehensive program for the people’s welfare. Immediately upon his directive, a drone program was approved for rescue operations. We are deeply grateful for this step. Along with this, some speedboats were also handed over at the governmental level for rescue operations so that people trapped in remote areas could be evacuated – this is also a commendable step. Punjab Police teams, rescue workers, the army, and public servants are standing with the people in their distress, working day and night with full effort and courage – salutations to their greatness and pure emotions.
If I don’t mention the people of Alipur among those whose lives were saved in the floods, the narrative would be incomplete. With what brotherhood and empathy they arranged food, water, and timely information for the flood victims – the young generation here showed exemplary spirit, whether it was timely information on the situation or the condition of areas. The way they kept people informed moment by moment, I offer thousands of prayers and red salutations to their spirit, courage, and thought process.
Now the situation will revolve around the government’s comprehensive program. At every step, thoughtful people are ready to see how Southern Punjab will be rebuilt and what its image will be. We, the people of Southern Punjab, will keenly observe whether the aid cloud burst is just disappearing into the hands of drone sugars or whether, through the great efforts of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and a great humanitarian, Maryam Nawaz, as Chief Minister, they will eliminate past corrupt practices and protect people’s rights from drone sugars, delivering them to the oppressed without discrimination.
There are great hopes; people have unspoken confidence in Maryam Nawaz’s practical steps. What I can say is that they should count every area, extract data from every village and tehsil thoroughly, and then form governmental teams that, setting aside so-called influential councilors, political figures, and numberdars, deliver rights to individuals one by one – not as alms, not causing heartache, not hurting self-respect. If it’s financial security, use banks; if it’s delivery of goods, let there be governmental observation.
Our leaders, our bureaucracy, our honorable Prime Minister, our Chief Minister – this time, truly turn this aid into a rehabilitation program so that the poor’s sorrow and heartache are alleviated, and the protection of rights changes seventy years of history. We, the people of Southern Punjab, also want that a small dam be built on the Panjnad before the confluence of the five rivers, one that can handle five lakh cusecs so that if an enemy again releases five lakh cusecs, we have the capacity to bear it, and for the rest of the year, canals in the areas have regular water for irrigation.
We have now become wise and prudent. Bring our welfare and development at par with Upper Punjab’s facilities and keep the reins in our own hands because we, the innocent people of Southern Punjab, are extremely fed up with drone sugars and now want to see the scales of justice balanced. Development for all, with equality and sensitivity, comprehensive rehabilitation programs with completeness.
