Henry Cavill has reportedly sustained an undisclosed injury during his training for the highly anticipated Highlander reboot, causing an unexpected setback for the production. According to Deadline, the injury could push the release of the film to 2026.

Details surrounding the injury have not been disclosed, and neither Cavill’s representatives nor Amazon MGM Studios have issued an official statement regarding the incident. The film, a remake of the 1986 cult classic, will follow the iconic story of immortal warriors locked in battle over centuries.

Cavill leads a star-studded cast that includes Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang. The Man of Steel actor had teased his role during CinemaCon 2024, promising impressive swordplay, joking that his fans from The Witcher would be blown away by what’s to come.

As of now, the production schedule remains uncertain, but the injury has certainly delayed the project’s timeline.
