Singer Hadiqa Kiani has called on citizens to donate relief supplies and volunteer services for flood-affected families in Punjab.
Visiting a relief camp in Kasur on Sunday, she highlighted the urgent need for food, clothing, bedding, and medicines, adding that blankets and jackets will soon be required as winter nears. She also appealed to doctors to set up medical camps, warning of rising cases of malaria.
Kiani noted that floods have also devastated livestock—sweeping away thousands of animals and leaving the surviving cattle in dire need of fodder, medicine, and veterinary care.
Relief collection points set up by her team include Lahore’s Dolmen Mall (Entrance 2), Fortress Stadium, Sheikhupura’s Circuit House, Kasur’s District Public School, and Government Guru Nanak College in Nankana Sahib. Donations can also be made directly to the Army Relief Fund for Flood Affectees.
Kiani, who led the Vaseela-e-Raah campaign during the 2022 floods, previously adopted entire villages in Balochistan, building homes, a school, a maternity clinic, and a mosque.
This year’s floods have caused catastrophic damage across Pakistan. NDMA figures show 910 deaths, 6,180 animals lost, and 7,850 homes destroyed. Punjab has been the hardest hit, with over 4.1 million people affected, while Sindh braces for fresh floodwaters amid heavy rains.
