A gang of fraudsters deprived a NADRA data entry operator, including a woman employee, and six other citizens of cash, mobile phones and ATM cards in different incidents.

Police said the main incident took place outside an HBL branch on Millat Road, within the Sargodha Road police jurisdiction.

Humaira Zia, employed as a data entry operator at NADRA, visited the ATM to withdraw cash when three fraudsters approached her. Posing as bank staff, they convinced her to hand over her card and PIN, claiming they were on ATM duty.

One of the fraudsters entered the ATM booth, switched her card with another, and later withdrew Rs151,805 from her account.

Separate incidents of similar fraud were also reported.

In 197-RB Gatwala (Madina Town), two swindlers snatched cash and a mobile phone from citizen Mansoor. At Lathani Pull, Nasir Ahmed was deceived into handing over his money and phone. In Samundri’s Circular Road area, Siddique Ahmed was conned in the same way.

Near Kashmir Pull (Madina Town), Imran was tricked while being asked for directions; the culprits escaped with his ATM card, Rs12,000 in cash, and his mobile phone. In Gurunanakpura (Gulberg police limits), Dilshad Ahmed was similarly deprived of cash and phone.

In 409-GB, Tandlianwala, Ali Husnain was targeted in the same fashion. Police have registered multiple cases under Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched a search operation to trace the suspects.
