ISLAMABAD: 25 new cases of dengue were reported in the federal capital during the last 24 hours and positive hotspots have also been identified by the authorities.
According to Express News, out of the 25 new cases reported in Islamabad, 14 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals, 18 cases were reported from rural and 7 from urban areas.
The report said that 8 cases were reported from Bhara Kahu, 4 from Sohan, 2 from Sector G-5, 1 each from Alipur, G-13, G-6, I-8, I-9, Koral, Rawat, Sihala, Tarlai, Tarnol and H-13.
The administration said that dengue surveillance teams visited the affected areas along with the district administration and after inspecting 486 places, 15 positive hotspots were identified and the concerned Assistant Commissioners took action on the hotspots.
It was further reported that 40,000 activities were carried out against dengue in Islamabad, 27 patients’ homes and 1,129 surrounding houses were sprayed, and fogging was carried out at 176 locations to prevent the spread of dengue.
